Doughnut, anyone?

19 Mar

Aaaah I am having trouble getting up this morning! How much easier would it be if I was tempted out of bed by one of the delicious handmade doughnuts from Lukumas? They are the most delicious donuts you have ever tasted. Really! Handmade, in-house, right there at the delightful cafe found on Carrer Torrent de l’Olla 169, in Gràcia. So… doughnut, anyone?

Tasty doughnuts in a tasteful cafe. Lukumas is decorated simply but beautifully, designed by Petros, the (very charming and cute, yes ladies, he is cute!) owner, who bakes the doughnuts freshly every day, using a family recipe from his native Salonica.

While you enjoy your delicious doughnut (with or without hole, or filling, or icing) at Lukumas, you can check out the art on the walls (currently: lovely illustrations by Sonia Pulido) or maybe join in on one of the craft classes that are held here regularly.

Whatever you do, do stop by if you’re in the area and pop in. You won’t regret it, I assure you. For more information and opening hours, check out the Lukumas Facebook page. For those of you who’d like to see a bit more (and who understand Spanish – que sé que sois muchos!) here is a video about Lukumas:

And now it’s time for breakfast… Doughnut, anyone?
