Lush fountain

To find a space of calm in the middle of a busy city, especially when times are tough politically and economically, is wonderful. I know of an urban oasis. It’s called La Tamarita, and it’s found at the base of Tibidabo mountain. Fancy going there with me? Let’s! It’s Friday, after all…

La Tamarita was laid out on several levels – the mountain starts right here, after all – and this adds to its sense of being somewhere quite different from our normal urban environs.

The entrance

Spring is just around the corner (even if yesterday it got colder again) and nature is doing its best to bloom, blossom and grow, so it’s a good time to find spaces within the city, where there is a bit of nature, and enjoy this moment of the year when leaves sprout and blossom dresses trees in either pink or white. Barcelona has many parks and tree lined streets with terrace cafés to do this, but also public gardens, tucked away within the blocks of the Eixample areas. Today I am sharing with you images of one such garden: Jardins de Tete Montoliú, the entrance of which is at Carrer Sepulveda number 90.
