Natural Autumn colours – Carrer Doctor Dou

It’s official, Autumn has made its appearance in Barcelona, and not just because it’s mid-October, but because temperatures have dropped and showers abound. With cooler weather and blustery showers come Autumn colours, but these are not so obvious in a city setting. Or are they? See for yourself…

Man-made Autumn colours – Palau Güell

When nature is not to be found on your doorstep, or only in small doses, you may have to look to the man-made to discover shades of Autumn colours. And if you seek,  you shall find. As I did. I’ll let the images do the talking…

Just a few

Happy Monday, I hope you had a lovely weekend! In Barcelona (and on many places along the Mediterranean coast) we celebrated Sant Joan this weekend, as a way to honour the Summer solstice. Ceiling arches

For more than five years I lived just one block away from Palau Güell, but as it was closed for restauration, I was never able to visit it. That changed a couple of weeks ago, when I accompanied a visiting friend to see it, and wow was I blown away! I took way too many photos to cram into one post, so I will share them with you in installments, starting with Palau Güell’s arches today. Enjoy!
