Walking around in Amsterdam (as you do, and I certainly did) last weekend, I noticed a handful of signs that I thought worth sharing. Typical from the Golden Age are the signs depicting various occupations, and these are grouped together on the corner of the Amsterdam Museum. The other one, much more combative, if you will, I spotted just a few corners further up the road. Although the fact that it had been left discarded, leaning against the wall, might mean that the war against nature is truly over! ;)

Street talk
10 Oct
This month, Las Calles Hablan, the first exhibit by Mapping Barcelona Public Art, will take place at Mutuo Centro de Arte. I thought I’d share some examples of street talk with you here, today, in the form of stenciled texts and images which were placed on Barcelona’s streets to convey a message to the onlooker.
The message may or may not get across in the way it was intended, but certainly adds to the way an artist interacts with their public and communicates their thoughts and feelings about the goings-on in the city (in this case, Barcelona).
