Shadows and light and the effects they have on their surroundings fascinate me, and I generally look around me for their projections. As today is Halloween, I thought it appropriate to share a few new ones with you that I found recently.
I discovered them all at the 22@ district, among the various office buildings (and a certain museum) and are pretty interesting. If only for their size. Notice how on the two buildings below there are both shadows and lights projected? It’s as if the two are communicating with each other using a non-verbal method…
It is also interesting to see how the same structure, in this case a series of wires with little balls on them tensed on a bunch of pegs, can create a completely different effect on one side of a building and on the other.
Last, but not least, a humble mesh which covers an old gate at a vacant plot opposite the Media-TIC building projects its shadows and light on a much less grand style. But it is certainly no less captivating (in my opinion) than its big neighbors.
Have a great Halloween, everyone! Tomorrow is a public holiday, so I’ll be back on Friday with a new post.
Brilliant photos again! Looking forward to seeing these places IRL.
Thank you Henk-Jan!! I’m glad you’ve enjoyed them!
