Indeed, what’s in a name? Well, in this case it means everything. For Name is a the equivalent of a range of clothing, designed by the lovely Irene Sabaté and Clara Aspachs, and which is designed and produced entirely in and around Barcelona.
On Carrer Palma de Sant Just number 12 the Name showroom and studio is located, and it is there that I took the images of this post. The range includes ladies’ knits and woven items, as well as the recent addition of men’s knits (below).
The theme of this year’s A/W collection is ‘wood’, and as with all the Name themes, occurred spontaneously, when Irene and Clara decided to use the pegs that Irene’s grandfather had made (above) as inspiration.
The quality is very good and the prices very reasonable, and that the collection has plenty of style goes without saying: feminine, elegant, understated and very wearable, easily dressed up or down, depending on the occasion.
The studio is found behind the clothes racks. A couple of facing tables, good storage for inspirational books and general admin bits and bobs, is all it takes for these two friends (who met while studying fashion design) to put together the collections, promote them and distribute them to various retail points around Spain.
At the back of their studio, a large cutting table (where prototypes are prepared every now and then) holds batches of clothes ready to be distributed to the boutiques which sell Name in Bilbao, Toledo, Sabadell and of course Barcelona.
Curious? Then check out their lovely range at either of these boutiques: Duke (Carrer del Duc 12, Barcelona), On Land (Carrer Princesa 25, Barcelona), Bhuno (Carrer Elisabets 18, Barcelona), Tocs (Carrer Sant Cugat 5, Sabadell), Pérez 78 (Calle Martín Gamero, Toledo) and Serie B (Calle Lotería 2, Bilbao).
