Blowing star bubbles – Carrer Portadors

There is an incredibly prolific street artist in Barcelona called Caesar Baetulo who signs his work “SM 172”, and today I have some of his more colourful graffiti to share with you. Are you ready? Here goes: SM 172 in colour.

The look – Carrer Mirallers

SM 172 tends to place his work close to the ground, and I have found most of it in the warren of streets around the Santa Maria del Mar church in El Born.

Newspaper boy – Carrer Abaixadors

He loves to portray people, both young and old, male and female.

Terrific turban – Carrer Carabassa

He likes stars and incorporates them in his work quite frequently.

Little Atlas – Carrer Panses

MeSibila – Carrer Mirallers

While doing some background search, I stumbled on this video clip – the making of MeSibila – credits as indicated on the Vimeo site. You’ll spot not only the graffiti above, but others too…

Spraying – Carrer de Guillem

These two images (above and below) can be spotted around Ciutat Vella in black & white, but apparently SM 172 also does them in colour.

Concentrated – Carrer Cecs de la Boqueria

Carrying the world – Carrer Trompetes

You can also find SM 172 in colour in El Raval (below), and many in B&W also. But I’ll show you those another time.

Not only is Caesar Baetulo prolific with his street art, he also has 3 blogs (click here, here and here), a Flickr page and is active on Google+ and Facebook. He’s a busy bunny!

Amazing! I love the lady wearing the turban and the man carrying the world, I’ll be looking out for these when I visit Barcelona one day….
