Happy Monday! I had a great weekend, I hope you did too? One that has put you in the mood for the funky fonts I am sharing with you today, and which I hope will be an enjoyable kick start of a good week!
Starting with some shop signs from the times when telephone numbers were one digit shorter than today (above)…
… to more recent times, where we can find shadow effects (above) and well-rounded neons. Nice, eh?
Shop signs are not the only funky fonts around Barcelona. Have a look at the various security signs on shops or residential buildings. Some are quite old, and have more interesting lettering than their more modern counterparts (well at least, I think so).
And some of them even have pictograms as an added bonus, such as this one around the corner from the Cute Suite, on Carrer Pintor Fortuny.
Parks and shopping malls can also have interesting funky fonts (or just simply cool letter effects) at their entrance, and I love the simplicity of the letter “M” (Helvetica, if I’m not mistaken) at the gate of a lovely park on Montjuïc, or the splash of red on a mirrored surface at Maremagum, in Port Vell. (Have you spotted me yet?)
Have a great week, everyone!
