The copycat – Carrer Ciutat

The end of the week has arrived, and we’re getting ready to handle a heatwave in Barcelona this weekend, so I thought it appropriate to share with you some images of handles and holds today – enjoy!

The twins – Carrer Ciutat

As with Barcelona’s many different, beautiful doors, the handles on these are equally varied and some are quite stunning, and range from the plain, simple and functional (such as the sturdy one below)…

Dainty – Plaça de Sant Iu

… to the dainty (above) or the decorative (below) among the old styles.

Two-in-one – Carrer Bellafila

There are, of course, more recent versions of handles and holds to be found around Barcelona. For example these two (above and below). I am quite taken with both – the two-in-one because it is so very practical and minimal, and the beauty because it is unusual to see a porcelain door handle on an outer door, and also because it blends so nicely with the sprayed colours on the door it ‘lives’ one.

What kind of handles and holds are there where you live? Would you share them with me? I’d love that! Regardless of whether you decide to share them with me or not: have a great weekend!
