Today, I feel like sharing something quite special with you: painted blinds and shutters. But not just just any old paint, these paintings were commissioned, and so the result is a series of artful shutters. Enjoy!
Melancholy ladies appear to be a bit of a trend at the moment, as can be seen from the first two images I’m sharing with you, but I find them to be very beautiful – each in their own way.
Who are you, lovely lady with the blue hair? You who remind me of images for BIBA and Mary Quant from the Swinging Sixties? So very different from the style of the Belle Epoque, which is portrayed (Barcelona style) on the shutter doors below.
There are less romantic styles to be seen on shutters and blinds too, as on Carrer Fonollar and Baixada de Viladecols, but this just adds to the diversity and richness of the street art that can be found around town. I really like this one, at Imanart (below). What do you think?
On Plaça de la Llana we are offered some sound advice by a funny looking, but very cute, blue boy, and to wrap up today’s post, on Carrer Tallers, a colourful abstract on not, one, not two, but three shutters adds some excitement to an otherwise grey corner.
Most of these artful shutters are visible only on Sundays and public holidays, when shops are closed, or outside of shopping hours, daylight permitting.
lekker!
