There’s a building on Carrer Diputació number 235, which appears to be practically overgrown with flowers. It’s really quite something, so I just had to share it with you.
Built in the Modernista style, this residential building has all the trimmings: wrought iron balconies, cast iron pillars, carved masonry and shuttered wooden blinds. But it’s the profusion of flower detailing that makes it so exceptional.
For the flower details are very large and abundant, and in some places appear to be growing up and across the walls of this Eixample beauty.
Lovely, isn’t it?
Funnily enough, and contrary to most other buildings of this period, the top of the building is rather more simple, less profusely decorated. But certainly no less beautiful!
It’s off white gables have sufficient detailing to make them beautiful in their own right, and its colour alone creates a striking contrast with the building and the (mostly blue) Barcelona sky above.
Be sure to check it out, if you’re in the area. You can find the building right here.
