Hi! I’m late today, sorry! I got carried away taking photos this morning and lost track of time… As I’m kind of rushed off my feet now, I’m doing a ‘lazy’ post today, meaning few words, but plenty of images of some of the fancy farmacias that abound in Barcelona. Enjoy!
Completely tiled, albeit with modern glass windows and automatic sliding doors (above), and (below) a traditional marble façade with wood + glass windows and door. Inside, the original wooden storage units have been kept in good shape – a rarity these days.
‘My’ farmacia for well over seven years now. Lovely pharmacists, who care for their customers and look after them well.
Despite wear and tear, this is a gorgeous old farmacia in the Born area. Well worth checking out both inside and out, for it still has the original cabinets…
No longer in use, unfortunately, but obviously a very important and beautiful pharmacy in its heyday, this pharmacy is located in a busy street at the bottom of El Raval. More often than not, prostitutes stand along its walls offering their services.
Two more, that are no longer selling medicines, yet the old signs remain as a tribute to their past. Rather beautiful, don’t you think?
One you may find familiar, after yesterday’s post on mosaics! This gorgeous pharmacy is just a couple of blocks from the Cute Suite. It was a holiday when I shot the photo, hence the closed blinds, but it is still very much an active part of the local shopping drag.
That’s it for today (I told you it’d be a lazy post). More tomorrow, and I promise to be on time! Fins demà!
