Plaça de la Llana 6

You may have noticed (especially if you are in Spain right now) that temperatures have been hotting up and that the sun has a lot of burning power at the moment. Now is the time to stay cool and well protected! Luckily we have great shops in Barcelona, such as Hatquarters that help us keep cool – both style- and temperature wise!

Keeping your head cool

Located in the Borne (and with another outlet in shopping mall L’ Illa, as well as one in Istanbul), Hatquarters  sells a wide variety of hats and caps in gorgeous styles both for guys and gals who like to keep their heads cool without loosing their cool.  Exclusive retailer of the world famous hat brand from San Fransicso, Goorin Bros, they also stock two fabulous shoe brands: Urge from Sydney, Australia, and our very own Maians.

Made in Spain

Maians is a great brand that has taken an old classic (such as the shoe below, which is the kind of Summer shoe my father would wear back in the 1970’s) and recreating it with great design, using the traditional manufacturing methods of the original ones.

Old school

The result is a funky collection both for men and women at a very affordable price. All shoes are handmade locally using regional material and vulcanized rubber. If there was ever a souvenir worth buying, this is definitely it! Just have a look at some of the styles currently on offer:

More cool hats

The shop is not very large, but very well put together and nicely decorated. Exposed brick on one wall, wooden sheeting on the other. Hats and caps are beautifully displayed on hooks and the shelves at calf-height, underneath which storage bins have been custom built. Practical and tasteful – in short: well designed.

Urge shoes

Their range of Urge shoes isn’t very big, but they are certainly very nice! On the same shelf they also have a couple of interesting magazines and and flyers, as well as a monthly bilingual paper that is always a fun read.
