Carrer Raurich 8

Hello! I’m back! A day later than I said I would – sorry! I was feeling so very lazy yesterday – but here I am with more loveliness from Barcelona. Today I’m taking you to a shop that I like a lot, and really ought to visit more often. It is Jeanne Weis, in Carrer Raurich number 8 (just off Carrer Ferran).

Ready made

This lovely shop is all about African textiles. They are sold by the meter or as ready made clothing. But not only that! They have woven rugs and wall hangings, artifacts, accessories and lots more…

Off the rack

Clothes (for men, children and women) in a variety of styles are sold ready made, off the rack. However, if you like a style, but prefer a different fabric, you can also have the item made to order.

Pouches + scarves

Necklaces, scarves, pouches, wall hangings… the shelves are full of gorgeous things to choose from. Not all are made from African fabric – some are made from glass, wood, shells, beads, leather… In any case, any of them will jazz up your interior or the outfit you are wearing.

Totes

Their totes and woven baskets are lovely too! I love the tote on the right, the one that kind of looks like leopard print. Which is your favourite?

Necklaces

Everywhere you look inside this shop, you’ll see beautiful artifacts that have been handmade or produced on a small scale. The materials are natural and the designs very stylish.

Textile wall

I’m in love with their textile wall. So many colours and patterns to choose from! And the wall itself is a nifty design too: a metal frame with cross bars to drape the textiles over, it can swivel and behind it are the fitting rooms.

Counter full

The beautiful antique wooden counter is chock a block with gorgeous goodies – I’ve photographed a few of them for you – see below.

Elephant

Their men’s and boys’ shirts are great, and so are their girlie dresses – made from cool and colourful wax printed cotton which can be washed again and again and still stay in good condition, getting softer as time passes.

Dresses

Their blankets and wall hangings make great statement pieces in any interior too. If you’re in the Barri Gòtic, do check out this shop. Owner Jeanne will welcome you with a smile and offer any information you may require about the items on display. I’m currently working on a new collection for my Etsy shop, and I use African textiles, so who knows? We may run into each other at Jeanne Weis!
