Do you like vintage furniture? If so, let me take you to a really nice shop, just a couple of blocks from the Cute Suite, where they sell some really nice pieces, as well as an array of decorative items.
The shop is called Fusta’m, which could be losely translated as “give me wood”. They consider themselves a studio for woodwork and restoration, but in my opinion, they are great stylists also, for all items on display in the shop have been styled for best effect.
I really like how everything has been stage-set, and I also like how they have left certain original features of the shop space just be – check out the old wallpaper behind this swanky bar – they simply didn’t remove it from the walls when they moved in.
It is quite easy to get distracted by the items used for styling purposes (also for sale, by the way) because they can be truly gorgeous, but if you take a good look, you’ll notice that the furniture is often very beautiful and desirable.
Just look at that round table (above) or the set of side tables (below) as an example…
For those on the hunt for household goods, there is also plenty on offer. Just take a look at the aluminium sifons, ceramic vases or collection of alarm clocks. But there is more…
Paintings, mirrors, books and also printing blocks used to print fabrics and some great lamps are on display (and for sale) here too.
Their collection of glassware is quite superb, and they also have some funky glass vases and dishes.
My favourite item is the wicker chair (below) it would look great on my balcony, or on the gallery at the back of my apartment. I’ll have to add it to my wish list!
PS: I was recently asked to contribute to Mycityantiquing.org, and I just did! So now, this post is featured on their article on Fusta’m!
