Aah it’s Friday and the weekend is here! That is often enough reason for people to feel well and end the week with a skip in their step. If it isn’t, then watching your nutrition and pampering yourself with organic food or natural body products is a good way towards being well…
That is why I’m taking you to Psaging today. A shop dedicated to natural heath, beauty and nutrition, just around the corner from the Cute Suite, where they have anything and everything you may need. It is located on Carrer Pintor Fortuny 33, at the top end of El Raval.
Another reason I’m taking you here today, is the beauty of its premises. Located in an ample space, with a high ceiling with typical Catalan ‘golfes’ – the terra cotta brick arches resting on cross beams that are so widely used in the region of Spain. A memento from the late 19th – early 20th Century are the cast iron columns that support the ceiling and which add lots of character to the space.
Psaging offers a very wide range of all things nutritional – both for body, beauty and mind, as well as a good selection of organic foods. The brands they carry are well- known and trusted, and the salespeople knowledgeable in naturopathy, Bach Flowers, homeopathy, etc. On top of that, they are both very friendly, so that makes shopping at this Psaging outlet (they have more in other areas of Barcelona) a very pleasant experience. They also have these very pretty woven baskets, with leather or rope handles – cute, don’t you think?
Their range of organic food is also quite extensive, although they do not stock fresh produce. But for all sorts of delicious dry goods this is a good place to shop, and if you are able to read Spanish, they also have helpful books with recipes, and useful information.
The shop (formerly called Marsans) has only very recently changed its name to Psaging, and some remnants of the former style and branding are still visible here and there in the shop.
I think this adds to its charm, as transitions need time. In any case their friendly and good advice, and excellent range of products hasn’t been affected and this what counts, after all.
I hope you have a lovely weekend. Mine is going to quite a sociable one, as I have visitors from out of town. What are your plans? Whatever you do, be well and enjoy! Hope to see you again on Monday!
